Homeland Wellness Bone Density Screenings

Homeland Wellness LLC is happy to announce they are now offering bone density screenings with the Sunlight MiniOmni ultrasound bone density scanner.  The MiniOmni provides an easy and comfortable way of measuring the forearm bone (Radius). This test is performed on a standard table, with no need to bend over towards the floor to take off shoe/sock. This ultrasound-based osteoporosis screening has been proven as a perfect tool for gaining the highest Medicare Stars, according to the HEDIS database collection protocol.

Approved through the FDA and also the FDA-PMA process, the MiniOmni measures Speed of Sound (SOS) expressed as meters per second. SOS is a proven parameter to measure Bone Density since multiple bone properties – microstructure, elasticity, cortical thickness, and bone density – are accounted for in the result.

The participant is provided a print out of their T-Score (compared to that of a 30-year-old) and Z-Score (compared to that of the individual’s age) results and educational information on keeping bones strong and preventing osteoporosis.

With each screening, the health professional conducting the test will provide printed results, osteoporosis prevention counseling and education on how to keep bones strong and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Educational material on osteoporosis risk factors and prevention are provided.
